solution to no fog lights?

  Renault Clio 1.2
hi guys i have a boring expression, sorting the alloys out as soon as i can, but the fact i dont have fog lights on the front is horrible. just wrecks the car, and the covers on where there meant to be makes me wonder whos actually designing renaults. anyhow...
if anyone, what have you guys done to get rid of this, put fake ones in without the wiring or just left it?
i spoke to renault about is and they said about me needing a new steering wheel stalk, wiring, fogs and then fitting which came to over 300 quid! for fog lights
so dont know what to do.

  One that doesnt work
Stalk - £10 to 20
Fog lights - £20 to £60
Wiring - I would think it would be quite cheap!

Im think of putting fog light on my clio! It would look alot nicer!

  Whichever has fuel
Just put the units in and don't bother wiring them up.

Failing that, sell it and buy a dynamique.

Get the lights second hand and they will just bolt into the back of the bumper. As for wiring your car may have the loom in ready depending on year/phase. Youll just need the light switch stalk with the fog light switch on it. Failing that stick a relay in on your sidelights and have a aftermarket switch hidden somewhere on your dash. Ive done it on a mk2ph1 before, there maybe a guide in the guides section.

Just don't get them, they're pap, you will hardly use them unless your one of those idiots who thinks "arrr yerrrrr mertttt lets light my clio up like a christmas tree by puttin my fog lights on when its not foggy innit bruv'. they don't really add anything to the look of the clio imo either, certainly does not "wreck" the look of it.

thort u were keeping it standard and buying a 197? :S

id just buy the fogs n not wire them up if its too much hastle. improve the looks

haha yeye true. i may just stick them in without spending money wiring them just to look better because the car with those stupid cover's is horrible. but tbh i can drive through fog with the need of fog lights. but as i say just to look better

na mate was looking into but thought na lets spend a bit of time and graft on the 1.2 and wait until insurance is lower, mite as well. and tbf ive spent like 600 quid on repairs for it so far so it (qoute) "shouldnt" have anything wrong with it in the long run.

  Celica and Raptor.
Hi Mate.
Id just leave it tbh Its not really worth the hassle, But If you really want them to improve the looks etc Id just put some In but dont bother with all the wiring etc.
Like said before you dont really use them much anyway!!

Good Luck Mate.

ye sound mate. is it just literally a bolt in light? and will this affect such things as MOT and the police? i wouldnt imagine it would because there there but not working...

bonxy, is it literally just soldering wire to wire? remember the stalk i have has only one fog light switch, the bag fog lights. what happens if i were to wire it?

did some for a lad i know a few week back and when i had the bumper off the pods to hold the lights werent there so i had to find a scraper and take the pods off and bond them onto his bumper! the wiring was there and the switch had to be changed so it had a front fog switch on and then just add the fuse in the fuse box!

Well, the wiring loom should be there, it was on my old car, so i got some standard fogs and just plugged them straight in. Then i bought a switch and found the connector and plugged it in. The only thing you have to watch out for, is there might not be a fuse in for the front fog lights, so you might have to put a fuse in your MAIN fuse box. :D

Sorry, the post above wasnt there when i posted this!!
