my steering on my mk1 is really squeeky and its now really annoying me, i dont have power steering and i havent got a clue wot it could be, can anyone help?

Try oiling the steering rack

On my old mk1 the plastic cover underneith the steering wheel used to squeek like fook. Might be worth checking to see if all the screws are tight?

^^ Mine too, f**king pissed me off as well, I used some Vaseline at the back of the steering wheel for a while, then it came back so sprayed it with some white grease, still fine, this was a year ago..

ok, ill try oiling it this weekend. could i just spray everything with WD40?

No, thats not a lubricant. You are talking about inside the car yes? if so i wouldnt use wd40.
