Basically have been looking into getting myself a new computer for the house and basically i am bit of a computer "noob" i know a bit about processors and hard-drives etc but not much. Have been looking at the apple range (i am also a student) just wondering what fellow students are using for home and what for university?Any help would be much appreciated, and a bit of help of specs to go for etc.

Thanks again

Got Macbook for uni with upgraded ram. Didn't think extra money for pro was worth it for light up keyboard. Think it was 750 when I ordered it from uni network so 15% off I think.

You could get laptop with same spec much cheaper but I though mac would probably last me through all of uni and then some and pc would probably give up after 2nd year so worth the extra and I look cool coz I got a mac haha

Was considering an iMac for the house, what are people thoughts on the iMac ? And what's the best spec to go for ? much difference between the MacBook and iMac?

Never used an iMac but the spec of cheapest one is same as Macbook but with a smaller HDD.

The difference between the two is iMac is a desktop and Macbook is a laptop.

I chose the Macbook for uni because I can take it anywhere with me, lectures, other peoples dorms to do work, starbucks etc then got desktop pc at home.
