Its similar to when someone breaks into your car never feels the same, may not to you but its just a feeling people get.

He may not but all the potential buyer needs to do s get the cars checked out, a lot of people do this now.

But an accident isn't recorded in any way, so 'checking the car out' wouldn't tell you anything other than if it had been written off.

Doesn't look like a write off to me. I repair worse cars than that which are of equal age and value.

My friend is currently screwing some guy over for whiplash on his insurance but he actually had whiplash and the guy that crashed into him was blind drunk. He has to go to Physiotherapy and it takes time but he'll get a fair whack.

This was like 5-6 months back so he no longer has any pain in his neck or back but still has to attend Physiotherapy.

think ive changed my mind about claiming whiplash or anything as i am fine, might try and press charges if possible. So mad if this is a write off, only had the car a year loved it to bits, if it is a write off can you buy it from the insurance and how much do they normally charge?

Cos then i could strip it and sell the parts

Depends on your insurance companies policy with regards to buying it back. I tend to agree the bodywork doesnt make it a right off, the the RS seat covers are a fortune.

Id be surprised if you dont feel any pain after that, but if not your lucky.

Of course it is! Maybe something new to you but it is and you can find out.

  Turbos.
Bad luck mate. I was in Bluewater on Sunday myself, glad it didn't happen to me!

As bitter as you're feeling, unless the guy was a real down and dirty chav then i'd let him off. We've all been young and stupid before, if you got the impression he was genuinely sorry then hopefully this has been the lesson he's needed to learn.

Hope everything gets sorted with the best outcome.

my ears still ringing from the impact or maybe the airbag going off not sure?

It'll be the airbag, they do leave your ears ringing, big style! Especially the ear near the bag, for at least a week or so.

You been to docs to get checked out?

How??? Unless it gets written off then there is no official record to my knowledge.

However, it is quite easy check for accident damage, and clios are particulalry easy to spot replaced pannels on.

I agree with cliobuyer, as he said as much as we hate to admit it, we hav all at some point driven like a complete goon and while most of us will get let off when we have driven like this some people don't.

I am sure everyone can think of a time they have almost been responsible for an accident no matter how big or small.

Sure he has learnt his lesson. As with the whiplash thing as already mentioned its people that make false claims that pushes up premiums for everyone else. As tempting as it is to get a quick bit of cash!

Well, i didnt like it but after ringing up the repair garage and them telling me the damage is £5.5k and the insurance saying its a write off I was so pissed off i went down the doctors and am now claiming whiplash, same for my friend who was in the car. Flame me all you want!

I spent thousands on that car this year, colourcoding, new sidestrips and badges, the £750 i spent getting it serviced and new cambelt, all the new parts i replaced including front and rear disks and pads, silver interior door handles, double spoiler, new replacement exhaust and cat, new engine mounts, new interior door inserts, new matts, new steering wheel, new windscreen, new wipers, new rear lights, all these things and probably more add up, they were done this year as i wanted to make my clio 172 perfect now some mug had wrote it off and im loosing everything i put into the car, they wont pay me more than 4.5k if that!!!! thats why i went doctors.

Im gonna claim as much money as i can out of this idiot!

Dont accept an offer of less than 5k for it. try to push for a retail value on it.

Likewise i dont blame you for claiming. Hope its alsorted soon enough for ya. Another 172 next????

Good luck claiming, I just hope for your sake the guy who crashed into you hasn't found this site.

doesnt make any difference. Whiplash can take upto 48hrs to materialise. I know someone who suffered virtigo as result of an RTA and it was a week later when the signs started to show.

Thanks guys, im gonna try and get as much as possible, like you say no lesss than 5k, i paid 5.5k for mine last year. Oh well, hopefully i can move on to better things, maybe a 182 or trophy, gotta stay with the clios, for the time being anyway.

  cock mobile.
That's so s**t mate, hope it works out ok!

Is there anyway you could buy the car back off them on the cheap (with your claim money) and get it repaired yourself somewhere cheaper?

  Audi S3 225
when my freind write his car off he bought his 1.2 back for 800 quid, and sold the parts, coilovers, alloys, exhaust and interior and he made more than he bought it for. Plus he had a pay out of 5.5k for his clio so he made a tidy profit.

But im not sure how much they will sell me my clio back for, ill try find out, think the repair cost is so much due to the seats airbag going off im sure thats like 1k or more.
