Just returned home from my second 200 mile excursion to look at a Valver (actually this time I was going to buy one), still in shock a bit as to what just happened, but let me rewind a week or two...
Valver Number 1...
Lovely looking Forest Green Valver, good price and was informed it was absolutely immaculate. Drove half way across the country, took one look and realised it was a shed, then came home again. On the way home I get a puncture, taking my car off the road over a weekend when I had potential buyers wanting to come see it.
The in-between bit...
Bit of a lull in Valver land so I concentrate on selling my car, get plenty of interested folk but then I fall ill with some vomiting bug, stopping me showing it to people (I had about 6 people wanting to see it in one weekend)
Valver Number 2...
Instantly fell in love with this one, Monaco Blue and unbelievably tidy from what I saw of it, I'm talking YOJ standard here as well (still had tape deck and everything), really was amazing for an 11yr old car. I had a potential buyer wanting to come get my car today but I had to decline due to going to get this one.
Anyway, I arrange to meet the current owner in a Tesco car park near his house and then follow him back as he lives in the middle of nowhere. He drives into the car park just about to pull up next to me and then bang, his car more than likely written off in an instant, just 10ft away from me. So I end up being a witness to a big smash up, hand my details over and off I go, another 200 miles and day wasted.
Its hard to imagine how I felt at that moment, seeing your new car destroyed right in front of your eyes just like that, I'm just grateful no one was hurt at the end of the day. The car must have been cared for so well for 11yrs, and then minutes before it falls into my hands its smashed in an instant, gutted!
So, now I have my heart set on a Monaco Valver (not just any Valver), and I've had trouble enough just finding any colour ones to look at over the past 6 weeks.
I get the feeling S25 doesn't want me to sell up. I know I care for it in a borderline obsessive way, and nobody I know wants me to sell up, but it seems as though the car itself is now finding increasingly sinister ways to stop me selling up. I'm now seriously considering taking it off of the market, as it seems as though its going to take some serious time to find the exact car I'm looking for and I can't go car-less for that long.
