someone went into the back of me

  2001 Clio 1.2 Dynamique
Someone went into the back of me in a car park yesterday. there is no real damage to the back bumper really, think the black part has come slightly unclipped, but my neck is sore today. I have license plate and time date etc... but no details. get this.....i got out and waited for them to get out of the car and the dappy b**ch refused! i started writing down her number plate infront of her and she just wouldnt look at me or get out. Im guessing it will all be on cctv in the car park. Should i go to a doctor about my neck, i think i will and should claim for my neck, it is killin today. i had my girlfriend and her sister in the car at them time so have witnesses aswell. how should i go about reporting this incident seeiang as she refused to get out. thats illegal isnt it, should i tell police! i would like a new 172 rear bumper but i dont honestly think it needs it, i shouldnt really claim for that aswell though i dont think i will. i will get it checked today though to make sure its all fine underneath. what should i do??

okay i will do that this evening, i will also book a doctors appointment for tommorow afternoon. Should i also contact the mall carpark to make sure that they dont record over the footage.

You should have called the police at the time and tried to stop her leaving. I doubt they'll chase it up now and you'll have to deal with it through your insurance. I would have followed her home.

I've known people take license numbers of hit and run drivers before and the police refused to do anything

right, i wish i had done now but had girlfriend and her sister in the car who i dont think would have appreciated the trouble. I will make sure the police dont drop this if i have to.

anyone else experienced anything similiar, what did u do?

The Police should take this seriously. Someone has refused to give details for an injury RTI, albeit minor. There's two witnesses, although they're not independant. I'd say it warrants at least an initial investigation.

Women are f**kin useless when it comes to driving. Except that german bird. Saw some woman at my gym in a volvo estate trying to reverse bay park, she reversed into a car, so she drove forward into another car. then she gave up and drove off. It was pretty funny at the time, I just sat in my car watching her heroic efforts.

My uncle was hit from behind by a hit and run. Not sure if he got her Reg but she was caught and he got his car fixed and injury money for whiplash. Follow it up, don't let the police drop it!

Ill never make the mistake again of not getting someones details. A few years ago some little chav went into the back of my old car. Got out had a look and bumper looked fine so we shook hands and off we went. I did manage to catch his reg though. After a few days of driving it didnt feel right so I took it to a garage and they discoverd the boot floor crumpled and creased and was nearly a write off. Luckily renault managed to pull it out but it would have made things a whole lot easier getting his details there and then despite the car looking fine. Took me 6 months to finally get the 400 squid excess back from him.

when i had my bump we didnt think it nessesary to involve the police as no one wa shurt but on reflection i though isn't there a crime od failing to report an accident? so the next day i went to the police and the basically said, was any one hurt?, no, then we dont need to be involved, i informed them that she can called me that night after taking her car back to the garage to have it looked at and she said ihad done a couple grands worth of damage and she was goign to sue for loss of earnigns while the car was off the road, her being ataxi. I told the police and they said and i quote "she probably talking bollox,*as he looked out the front doors at my car* for you to have a bump like that shes hit you and done maybe £500 of damage. She can tell you she is going to sue but she needs to go through the insurance for that. We cant really do any thing." he also advised that the CCTV camera was pointing the other way at the time of the crash so no video evidence doh.
atleast you have that, if not say you would lke to press charges for criminal damage if they do not pursue the hit and run.
I now keep a thing in my glove box a check list to fill out in the event of an accident so i dont need to think, because the first time the addrenaline clouded my thoughts.
heaven forbid it happen again, if it does i'm gonna be like grissom from CSO

So you are publicly admitting that you are a fraud:lolup: thing is I already knew as you have never repaid the money you stole from me when I bought LED's from you for £88 and never received a thing.....can you explain this??????????????

If she hit you hard enough to give you a sore neck, definately get the bumper looked at because the foam padding behind the plastic bumper may well have been damaged, meaning a future impact causes damage to more than just that as its energy absorbancy won't be as good next time...

It's the sort of situation where if she had stopped you might have had reason to be nicer about it, but as she's left the scene of an injury road traffic collision (she didn't even ask if you were injured because she didn't get out to speak to you) and has subsequently also failed to produce details, why not take the b***h to the cleaners.

People who think it's acceptable to behave in that manner need to be educated that it's not, and deserve everything they get!

Shame to here, I hope you get it sorted. I have to add though, if there is no damage to your bumper I'm suprised your neck is sore. My mx5 got written off from a rear end shunt from an estate car ploughing into me on a 50mph road as I was stationary it catapulted me about 5 metres forward even while I was breaking and buckled the rear end and destroyed the bumper + lights.

My missus got tapped on the rear bumper by a lorry trying to s**t her up on the motorway (because she changed lanes infront of him and he didn't like it) so after a mile or so he sped up and knocked her car with enough force to chip and scrape the rear bumper, she had no neck injury though.

It's not what u want to hear but as an ex cop I would have called the Police claiming injury (they HAVE to attend an injury RTC/RTI). As it was in a private car park it may be difficult now. Personally I would have followed her home and got my own back!!

Nothing should ever come between a guy and his car!. We work too hard for them.

ye got number plate and all details i could, just using my insurers legal firm at th moment to claim and get all i can from them but might switch to family solicitors before they take her to court so they dont take any of the claim?? This advice was given me by a good friend who works in the insurance and knows alot. Thanks tho
