Sony NWHD5 20Gb HDD - any good??

Like the look of this MP3 player - fairly compact for a HDD and i dont like ipods so this could be a good alternative?

very good alternative, much longer battery life and much better sound quality. Software isn't as good as itunes but is useable if you have the latest version. Personally I would go for the newer NW-A3000, it's only £160 from ebay. I wouldn't get an mp3 player 2nd hand, probably will have something wrong with it.

had onoe of these for two months very please with it. If you get one remember to switch the EU volume limiter off. Some people don't like the software (sonic stage) but i've had no probs with it and found it easy to use

it doesnt actually play mp3s, it has to converts them first so apparently doubles up your mp3 collection in atrac-3

yorkie yes it does. I have an HD5 with both atracplus and mp3 files on it. Sonic stage allows you to import music files as they are and then transfer across to the player so you can have both formats on the player.
Hope this helps

Some of the older Sony's only played that ATRAC format but Sony clocked that they were losing out by not having MP3 support
