Went over to Sorrento for our honeymoon last week. Absolutely stunning place which I'd recommend to anyone.
We booked with Thomson and stayed in the Grand Hotel Aminta which was about 10-15 minute walk down to town but there were also courtesy buses which ran every hour. Another place I would highly recommend. The food was superb, the staff were faultless and the location was great as it wasn't too far away from town but it was quiet enough to be out of all the hustle and bustle and beeping horns of the scooters!
The view from our hotel room, the Island is Ischia which we wanted to go to but just ran out of time.

And from the hotel terrace, Mt Vesuvius.

The "Men's Club" in town. Simple rules, no women and no camera's inside.

Took a trip over to Pompeii. Something that has to be done if you are anywhere near the area.
We decided to get the train for 4 Euro's return as apposed to the 40 Euro's that Thompson wanted. Each! We wouldn't have seen this guy if we went on the coach too!

In to Pompeii. I'd read a few bits on it but I didn't realise how bloody big the site was! Plus it was pushing 35 degrees!

Even with a wide angle lens, its hard to show the size of the Colosseum inside.

Took a trip up Vesuvius. We took the train to Pompeii and then booked in on a Unimog tour (22 Euro each)
Cloud had set in pretty quick once we were up there. Again, hard to get the scale with the camera. Very impressive though!

We only went on one excursion through Thomson which was the Amalfi coast on boat with stops at Amalfi and Positano, plus some little coves and a place to swim. Picked up at 9 am from the hotel and after an interesting drive to the harbour, we got on a boat and headed off. Well worth the 80 Euro each. We were fed on board and supplied with drinks too. Trip lasted 11 hours and there were only 12 people on board.

The boat stopped at this little set of islands so people could get off for a swim

Then we went over to Positano which personally, I think is much better than Amalfi.

Then on to see some hidden coves. This used to be a fishing cove. Only accessible via boat.

Another trip we wanted to do was Capri. To be honest, it wasn't that great! Extremely busy with a lot of excursion parties there.
