Spare key not working?

My spare key (that the mrs uses) wasn't able to unlock the car today. via remote c/l. So, changed the battery but still no luck.

The 'main' key still works fine, so I imagine there's a fault with the spare key itself. A simple fix or a ridiculous Renault-inflated charge?

Does the imobiliser red light on the dash go out when its used?

Does she use the key muhc?

It's worked when in the car, just wouldn't unlock it. I'm imagining it needs reprogramming or something to the central locking.

It's used everyday if that helps...

Probably just needs resyncronising.

Press the key fob buton for more than 2 seconds
Doors lock then unlock
Imobiliser LED lights up (the one on the dash)
Press the key fob button again.
Imobiliser light should do off (the one on the dahs)

Repeat for the other keys.

I'm in the same boat sort of...spare key battery flat and unfortunately removed it for a month. No joy for me in getting the above procedure to work, tried it with my main key and that doesn't unlock the doors after 2sec or more either?? Maybe this only works on ph2's??
