Spark plug socket size?

Hi, what size is the spark plug socket?
Having a look on here ive read someone say its 14mm but elsewhere iv read its 8mm?
Its a 2005 1.2 16v.

How come spark plug sockets are a weird size anyway? One I have says 16mm on the side but it's actually more like 21mm. Are Spark Plugs measured differently?

EDIT - Just read its the size across the threads that gives its size, so a 16mm spark plug is 16mm across the threads, nothing to do with the nut size

My socket i use for my plugs also says 16mm on it?:S

They all seem to say they fit for clio.
Its cheaper than paying £14+
