speedo fault, rear wiper not working and servicing

have read a few posts on here but thought i'd ask myself, i have a 2003 172 cup with climate control,its got no ABS (hope its not supposed to) it has a de-cat single silencer k-tec exhaust, its been dyno tested at 180.9 bhp so not sure it has had anything else done to it, im going to service it at the same time as fixing the few minor problems so need to know if there's any recommended makes i should use ie oil, oil filters, fuel filter, plugs etc etc

also the speedo only works when it wants am hoping its just a sensor????

the rear wiper doesn't work either...is this a common fault???

also was wondering would a cone filter make any difference other than noise to the panel one???

any advice would be nice as not really researched much before buying this car as never even thought about buying french before

Oil 5w40 i use elf.
Plugs are specific i dont know the actual code but its on here somewhere, or get them of renault.
Fuel filter i wouldnt change unless you have a missfire etc.

Speedo, take out the sensor clean the connections, always try free fixes first, if not its either the sensor or the motor on the clocks, or bad wiring.

Rear wiper, works when car is in reverse with the wiper stalk set to anyone of the settings, if its not working youl have to take of the rear wiper and motor and get a look, trying cleaning connections first, motor could be goosed or could be jammed, unplugged etc.

Cone filter, do not buy! they do nothing but suck in heat lose power and give you extra induction noise. K n N panel filter is the job.

i managed to fix the rear wiper was just a fuse

i fixed the speedo with a new sensor for 13 quid which was nice,

got a itg panel filter so cleaning that and just gotta change the oil,plugs n filter,

is that elf oil the best oil for the car, its done 87000 miles now??

Have to love the fuse fixes great work man, i dont know if elf is the best but it certainly does the job its sapposed to, im always a fan of using the recommended oil that the manufactures suggest.
