Speedo faulty

Hi, i'm doin this on behalf of the mrs cause she doesn't want to say anything silly :clown::clown::clown::clown:

She has a fault with the speedo on her 52 plated 172 cup.

She tells me the speedo when driving does a little dance then it stops working for a while :S Then it will come back to life :Sand its not clocking the mileage up either when it stops working.

She says she also notices a surge of power when the speedo stops working and when it comes back to life the she loses that power surge :S


Any advice would be good as we don't want an astronomical bill from Renault

sounds like a faulty speedo drive sensor on the gearbox as thats how the cup reads its speed.. best get it to a stealer as a right problem to get to iirc? dont know bout the 'surge of speed' tho m8??
