Speedo / Non Speedo Gearbox for a 182?

  Full Fat 182
Hi all,

I'm sourcing out a gearbox at the moment and keep seeing in descriptions about the gearbox being speedo / non speedo but I can't fin out what it means?

I'm guessing its to do with ABS, if so will a non speedo gearbox still be alright to fit to a 182 and how large an effect would it have on the effectiveness of the ABS?

What they mean is the speedo drive ones are from 172 cups to run the speedo. Non speedo ones are for ph2 172 non cup and 182's because the abs system runs the speedo from the wheel sensors

Pete- either will be fine for your car.

It's basically that speedo drive gearboxes have a sensor which runs the speedo. Yours picks up the speedo from the ABS, so the sensor could just be made redundant.
