They're a pretty nice ride & still comfortable. That was going from std 172 springs though-don't imagine they feel that much diffrent from the cup springs?

How long did it take you to get the lower strut bolts out? Mine were seized and took an age to tap out:dead:

Cheers for helping out by the way jam, extra pair of hands made manhandling the f**kers out way easier ;)

Erm, think we will be getting an early start. Got a few to view but one seems sublime. If it is as good as he says I would imagine I will be back Sat night with it.

Be in Sunday though.

Looks like a decent drop without going the coilovers route or distroying your standard shocks.

Yeah the difference is very noticeable compared to the non-cupped springs and I think they're bedding in abit now. Very impressed with the difference in handling also! Is a week to early to get the tracking done?

Nice car fella!!

Took mine a few weeks to bed in on mine, had its tracking done soon after that and was spot on apparently :S not sure how. Ride is quite stiff on mine even compared to the standard cup springs, but much improved on handling - is a lot more confidence inspiring on bumpy roads and doesnt seem to 'skitter' on poor surfaced corners. Definately less 'crashy' than standards too!

I'm impressed with mine but will be going down the coilover route soon for a slight bit more in drop and hopefully even better handling. I dont want mine on the deck but the arch gaps are still too big for my liking even with sportlines.

Im quite happy with the ride it is stiffer but my old car was a lot more crashy so I find it comfy.

Got the scorpion 192 exhaust and the RS tuner left on my shopping list for this year. Cup spoiler/wheels/dent removal (tiny dinks from the tesco battlefields) next year :approve:.

Careful going too low, m8. If you're fully legit with your insurance company on your car spec, then they tend to have an issue with anything greater than a 50mm drop. I told them about the Sportlines on mine and the Janspeed and it was a £59 increase in the premium - so I'm guessing approx £30 for the Eibachs alone?

It was the question she asked me when I mentioned the Eibachs...... "it's not lowered it by more than 50mm, has it?" +5cm must sound naughty to the insurers....

Looks GOOD! :)

I'm seriously looking forward to swapping out my Apex springs for new Sportlines this weekend.

Apex give a 40mm drop - which looks fabulous - but they are just too crashy for my liking on anything other than glass-smooth roads - my new commute is not smooth going! (Surrey B-roads - Eurgh!) :(

Yeah I think the sportlines are a good balance of looks and handling compared with the prolines and the Apex. Those pictures where taken literally straight after changing the springs so they are settling down a bit more.

I'm looking to have a driveable car, not a slammed one, work has quite a few speedbumps which I need to take into account so 40-45mm on coilovers will prob be what I'm looking for. Not too severe.

Haha! Had exactly the same with insurance (Admiral), I rang them up mid-term, and when I said was about to fit lower springs the lady on the phone seemed to get a bit more interested.......with £'s in her eyes I'm sure. Politely told her the brand of them and 30mm drop and she sounded all dejected. Think she was hoping to give me a boy racer bashing speech lol and bump my premium up a load. £23.90 increase to my policy which I thought was pretty good. That was last year too, insurance is £550 this year.

:D

All the bits on my car are declared. Was interesting telling them about my Clio Cup sticker set and white wing mirrors........long pause from other end of phone after explaining that one haha......rang with my alloys but were fine with those too as they are standard alloys just in a different colour, guess a lot of cars these days have painted ones from the factory.

Having measured mine up versus the std 172 springs, its dropped it by about 20mil at the rear and just shy of 25mil at the front. I hadn't realised the std fronts weren't progressively wound unlike the sportlines which is quite a nice touch.
