Spraying Bump Strips

  BMW F31
I've done a search, but some people seem to do more or less processes than others.

i want to spray my bump strips, door handles and side bullets.

what will i need to do?

sand down the strips and handles?

primer? plastic or normal?

then obviously basecoat and laquer, but i'm not sure when or if i should we flat sand the paint or primer etc.

also where's the best place to get the aerosols and sandpaper etc?
excuse my noobyness lol!

any help much appreciated.

:D

prep the sidestrips, primer (plastic primer is best for plastic) but cellulose is fine if youve prepped the strips well.

prime. wetflat the primer with p800, p1000 or p1200. basecoat. let it dry. laquer

i use my local paint supplier for paint, only down the road. never really had problems with halfords off the shelf though.

halfords/local motorspares sell primer/laquer, even ebay sell it if you dont wanna leave the house lol

yes, VERY good. Got a match for the 197 as some goon scraped the bump strip on the 1/4 panel, repainted it, looks spot on colour wise :)

FM, when you say prep the sidestrips, you mean clean/sand to a smooth finish?

if i wanted to do the handles too, would i need to take them completely apart to get at the sides of the bit that lifts?
