Springs or full suspension kit

Ok.... im fed up of having the front of me car lift and back end drop when i accelerate.

If i get 35mm lower springs, can u get different strengthd springs?

or shall i just buy a coomplete adjustable kit, so i can make the back harder so it doesnt drop when i floor it.

I dont think i have much tread left on my front tyres  only had the car since begining of august!!! had brand new tyres :(

its better to go for a kit rather than just springs, if you just use springs then your shocks will be knackered in no time

Robbie can tell you in more detail, but they are very very low, which is OK for some, also he had a seal go in the front shocker after a few months, and when he spoke to the bloke at AVO he said they arent really proper coil overs and that they are aimed at boyracers who just want say they have got "coil overs"

im sure robbie can explain everything better,

basicaly dont avoid totally, but just a word of warning that all

well, your never going to get much for 300-400 quid........

race items on the EP3 that a friend runs cost about 1400 quid each!

Well in a sentance; "you get what you pay for"

The experience i had/am having with isnt great. Got the full set inc rears and put them straigh on with new renault top mounts.

I knew they had a shortened damper so continuous lower ride heights are possible without damaging the damper, but the springs they supply are very short. I set them up with the ride height about centre of what i thought they could do. spring cup a bit less than half way down body. Dropped the car to the ground and couldnt see the top of the tyres, only the rims. jack wouldnt go under chassis rail and got about 1/3rd lock. No good.

Then raised them right up as high as they would go. Ride heaight now about the same as standard shocks with -35mm springs. Pretty spot on. BUT the dampers are on their end stop so when you go over bumps the car picks up a wheel and skips around. No good. By the time i had done all this, one of the seals had dropped all its oil out. Took them back to AVO and they replaced both seals and re-filled dampers (warrenty). They didnt seem to understand i wanted near standard ride height (what if i wanted to do a road rally? the car would be smashed to pieces) and the car handled badly if they were set anywhere near the end stops. i was told this is what people want so they can drive round town scrapping the floor. Not for me im afraid...

I go some helper srpings and re-fitted the whole lot. Now i have the height i want and the rate is about right, so they could have both been low on oil from the factory.

Oh, and the rears are a lot shorter so again, the back has to be quite low. But i took mine up a bit as it was too low (lofty will tell you!)

Now i am happy with them, but it took a while to get there! I have run bilstein and proflex coil-overs before at 4 times the price so maybe i expected too much? Also I have a friend running AVO coilovers on a 2wd cosworth and he cant fault them, ride height is spot on and car goes right up in the air or scrapes the ground no problems...

Never mind, will try differnt ones next time. Least they are right now though...
