Does the Golf not have a heavily modified S3 engine?

Nope its a V5 with a turbo, Not the standard 5 cylinder 1.8 turbo lump. I think the v5 is a 2.3 and in mk4 golfs gave 170 brake with a fair bit of torque but he had turbo'd it and it got 360 / 370 brake on the day.

Bit OTT for FWD but impressive!

Hmmm, you sure? I was sure it had a tuned 20vt from an S3. Interesting transplant for a Mk3 putting in a V5 and a turbo? Was the guy from Aberdeen by any chance?

was definatley a v5 turbo though cos i spoke to hime for half an hour.....
