Starter/Throttle body?

When trying to start turns over very slow and struggles, sometimes doesnt even start.

Thought it was battery but replaced that today and the problem is still the same. :(

Was thinking this is the starter motor. would i be right.

Also car sometimes sticks on a rev or revs high when i drop the clutch, especially when cold.

Is this a dirty throttle body?

Thanks for any help guys :D

Bailey.

Try jump sating if it starts fine that way then its the starters they do fail a fair bit. Check the wiring though thats often the problem.

Check the throttle cable for your second problem it might need replacing.

Cheers, was going to check the wires on the starter.

Was jump starting fine but the other day stoped workin :(

How much am i looking for a starter and how easy are they to fit?

Yeah probly will be the cable, have melted a few :S

Thanks for the help :D

Nope anyhting on a valvers a pain to do. Its not to bad DIY is your only cost effective way.

You need to check the routing of your cabel it shouldn't melt. Sounds like its dried out if you've a history of melting them so new one the only way get a proper Renault one though.

Yeah tell me about it, trying to get the oil filter in and out :( lol.

Was basically asking if its an engine out job?

Will give the cable a lube up 2 morro see if that helps, is currently routed through my hoist loops as i melted 2 over the mani :S so the curve might be a bit tight aswell.

Thanks dude.

Oil filters a pain, don't complain though when they were built Renault put them on tighte as it wasn't in the car at the time so they could. Just think what Renault mechanics thought when they tried to change them and they were locked on solid for there first service.

Oil filter easy way it to use the smallest filter you can and kpee pickin it up and dropping it down IMO.

Some people move the radiator to help do the job.

Nah nailed the oil filter eventually,

ended up grazing my knuckles, got another change coming up :(

presuming i can keep the engine in to do the starter?
