steering column problem on valver

have ordered a new column through reno and they are saying the part is on back order and dont know when the part will arrive, has anyone else been told this or have a time length on how long it takes to arrive.dont really want to have it welded want to do it right.

one more thing is it still alright to drive around with the play as long as you dont rally it

tbh mate.theres nothing wrong with welding it.

if reno had designed it 'RIGHT' in the first place it would never need doing.

I got mine next day from Renault!

A new column is imo better as it eliminates all play in the steering.

its fine to drive it with a little play in it as it wont fall apart or anything like that. i have had this happen on 2 different valvers, i put a new column on one and welded one. no difference between the two options at all except for a couple of hundred quid.
