Steering Creaking

MY RSIs sterring wheel/inside it is creaking. Now I know the car is old (95 Mreg) but could there be something wrong???
What could it be? Its only just started doing it.

could be a steering column spindle bearing, they went on my gtturbo and made a creaking/squeaking noise

Whats the best of of resolving the problem just take it to a garage, i guess yeah? or is it easily fixable?

probably better to get someone to take a look at it, noises can sometimes be awkward to pinpoint. then if they quote to sort it and they dont you have some comeback, plus i expect its a crap job to do if it is that or it may just need lubrication rather than parts

Do we have a price idea? Is it gonna be a big job or could it be done in say like an hour?

Guys its properly getting me paranoid whilst driving, could it be an expensive job?
And is my car gonna fall to pieces while driving, it will go in the garage on Sat but I need it all week to get too work.
