Check the column > rack pinch bolt is tight (can do it on the deck, pop the bonnet and reach down the back. Lube the U/J aswell with grease if its dry.

If thats okay, jack it up and check for play in the steering rack ends, and track rod ends, if theres excessive play in any of the 4, get them replaced, if theres slight in the rack ends, unclip the gaiter at the outer end, and pack some grease in there, and re-clip it. Will clunk more than click though to be fair if theres play with these.

tip: don't turn your wheel when stationery as it loads the steering components up a lot.

Even moving forward or backwards slowly will help, such as in a tight parking situation.

Ever tried moving non-power assisted steering on the spot? I did when my PAS failed. Arms like Arnie needed lol and that's what you're putting your steering through!

with the steering on the spot it use to be fine, its only recently started up, so never use to do it, i put my hand on the reack its self while my dad turned the wheel and i could feel a pinch/click through my hand, the rack is not the fluid one its the electric version.
