Steering Vibration/Grind on valver with 17"s

  Renault Clio 16v
I've had 17"s fitted to my blue valver but after I've been driving my car for about 10 minutes I get a vibration/grinding noise from the steering rack when turning left only!! I've had the inner plastic arch removed from the left front wheel to see if it was catching but it wasn't and the noise is still there!! I am now going to get the right hand side removed and see if it still happens!Does anyone know what it might be???Andy

Wheel bearing, but stange for it to do that so suddenly. Try taking wheels off and putting them back on. Jack car up and spin wheel and see if there is any noises, like a grinding sorta noise that indicates wheel bearing has gone. Also see if there is any moverment in the wheel from top to bottem

Have thought myself that it could be the wheel bearings, the wheels came off the other day and still I have the vibration!Do you know the cost for wheel bearings roughly?

£15 each

Tenner for pressing if you do the job yourself

Otherwise about £60 labour or so on top of the part cost....whole hub has to come off
