A hand grip on my Clio 172's steering wheel became unstuck and broke up in the heat some time ago, the other has just slightly started coming up too. I contacted my dealer, because I wanted it sorted under warranty. My dealer tells me they have put a claim in, but Renault must have the steering wheel to decide if it is a warranty issue or not and if it isn't, then I have to pay @£290 for the new wheel + labour costs. I have asked them to order a new wheel, but I'm worried that Renault could claim it isn't a warranty issue.
Is this standard procedure?
Are Renault known to refuse issues such as this?
What can I do if they do claim it isn't their fault?
Thanks
