Steering Wheel Retriming

Hi guys!

G’day from Australia 😊 I have a Clio 182 and have been considering re-trimming the steering wheel. The Clio’s market here is limited, not many people have experience with them, especially for things like steering wheel re-trimming.

I’ve seen several posts in this forum and noticed Snappy’s name mentioned multiple times; however, I haven’t been able to find his contact email. Would you mind sharing it with me, please?

Thanks a lot!

SG Motorsport, theClio V6 guy, uses Royale. The reason as I remember was that retrimming was Royale's business so he turned things around quicker, while for Snappy it was an "on the side, as and when" job. This may have changed since I had mine done. I have not heard any comments about which guy did a better job

My Royal wheel was quick but had lose stitching around the back side right where the thumbs grip (MK3 wheel around 3 years ago). Tbh wasn't bad enough to kick up a stink but it would make me go with Snappy for the next one if you can weather the turn around times - only heard good things

That's good to know as I've only heard good things about Jack & Royal. Do you think its a quirk of the wheel (not familiar with the mk3) or maybe a Friday afternoon job/oversight?

Maybe it was a friday jobby (stolen internet pics for ref):

Circled is taught and not fully formed to shape (can depress 3-5mm or so)

90 deg back angles don't comfortably meet each other or the back plastic, plus a loose thread or two

Appreciate its not the easiest wheel to do, but as they are touted as being great I was left a little disheartened (and they show MK3's in their portfolio).
I'm glad everyone else's wheels came out great, but mine didn't 😂 I'm sure if I kicked up a fuss they would of revised but I didn't, and that's on me
