Stereo Problem

When i turn the volume up beyond 12ish on the standard (list type) stereo, i get lots of crackling with CD's or radio, i don't think that it's the speakers as i would have to be really unlucky to blow them all up at the same time. Any suggestions?

12 is rather low,id test another headunit,might be the original is shagged
