Stonechips.

These are obviously unavoidable and for the most part unrepairable however when I brought my 182 back in June the front end was almost immaculate.

However now it's totally peppered!

I don't drive 'close' behind other drivers and will drop back if it's something with lots of open tyre like a 4x4 etc.

It just seems to have incredibly soft paint! I've even a stone chip on the edge of my spoiler?!

The wings aren't too bad, a fair few up the door pillars but mostly the bonnet and front bumper.

I had thought about a front end re-spray at somepoint but don't want to bother if there's nothing that can be done during or after the re-spray process to minimise it. I noticed when walking down the street how tidy most peoples front bumpers were and then there's mine which looks like it's been shot at with air rifles!

Is it something that just a it **** about the Clio's that you have to put up with or is there a solution?

Thanks

My passenger door seems to have suffered the same fate, although thankfully it's nothing that a machine polisher can't sort!

front end respray and then get the bodyshop to use a stone chip protector under the paint. it seems to work. You can also buy 'Rallye Laquer' which is supposedly much harder and robust than the normal stuff which means less stonechips..

Bonnet bra?
