Stop Light with Handbrake?

Just had a look at my mates clio as when the handbrake is applied the stop light also comes on.

Checked the fuses etc it had rear drums so obviously its not pads or fluid.Plugged in the RS-Tuner to see if that told me anything but it wouldnt connect.

Are there sensors in the drums?

It isn't something to do with low brake fluid is it?

But its only when the handbrake is on which uses a cable not fluid

Yes lol, mine does it too. It's the handbrake warning light

no its not the handbrake warning light thats why i said its the STOP light which normally indicates a fault

No worries,i checked the fluid anyway to make sure and it looked fine,should i top it up and see what happens i doubt its that though

Yeh the stop and the one that looks like this (o) with an exclamation mark inside the o.

Sorry, i was wrong. I've just checked in mine and the STOP light isn't on when the handbrake is.

Maybe it's a ph1 thing? As all mine have been ph1's.

It could be just ph1's then but my old one didnt do so surley their not meant to.

According to my handbook:

It also states that "If the STOP warning light comes on, you must stop as soon as traffic conditions allow. It is essential to stop as soon as traffic conditions allow if no information appears on the instrument panel"
