Streaming HD content from PC to 360

I have some HD videos on my PC, but they don't show on my 360, all my other videos show fine, but there in SD not HD.

Is there any reason for this? Any work around?

don't think the xbox supports hd videos unless they are in avi or wmv hd.

i'm guessing your hd movies are mkv, in which case you need to encode them to work.

On the ps3 you can't play them either but you can convert them into a vob and play them that way, no encoding required. Don't believe the 360 works in the same way though, well i haven't managed to get it to work like that anyway.

I can stream HD movied to my XBox, but they need to be DivX to work

transcode 360 should encode mkv on the fly

try encodehd it works very well

install windows 7, it has native x.264 support etc, and you can stream m2ts files wo all you need to do is remux mkv files to m2ts which takes literally seconds and you can stream 1080p files with 5.1 sound awesome

works fine for mkv files to my ps3

had to use v2.3 as the v2.5 beta had no sound???
