anybody no which tyre is best for stretchin over 16 clio rims?

stretch tyres are a euro look thing on wide rims , its really just so you can get your wheels out the arch futher whilst still keeping the tyre inside

i thought it was a tad smaller tyre over the wheel which = lower ride as well as being lowered awell as i said in newbie corner i is a clio virgin n i'm being broken in lol cheers for the posts guys n gals

lowers it by a fraction, nothing at all noticable, but you have less rubber in contact with the road so less grip

not at all, i have 195 tyres on so the same as normal 172 wheels (regards as to the amount of rubber on the rd) but i have wider wheels, and a wider track = better handling

would need 165 tyres or less to stretch on a standard 172 wheel

Until the stretched sidewall comes away from the alloy and you crash into a tree

it can be done, IIRC the standard width is 195 you can try getting hold of something around the 175 mark or just fit the lowest profile 195's which would be better for day to day use. You would need to lower your car as well for them to work as they may look silly at standard height.

You need some BBS or something, and more than 7J probably 8 or 9
You need to think about offset too

oh and be prepared for scrubbage
