Strip or not to strip... that is the question..

  Nothing at the mo :(
hey all, moving out soon *2 months* and as im gonna be walking to work my car will hardly get used, im thinking of stripping it out as much as i can and then when i use it for back road blasts and trackdays it would pay of

Is it worth it? like i said i wont be using it on a daily commute so that wont really matter about it being uncomfortable

Cheers

Depends what your like.

If you don't care and just think it's fun you'll be laughing. If you get bored easily and don't see it as a fun thing everytime you drive then you'll get bored.

Just strip it out. If you don't like it after 2 weeks either put the interior back in or sell it.

Would you ever use it for long journeys? Any long journey gets very tiresome very quickly in a stripped car.

hmmm longest journe would 1 hr to gf's mum

we are going to scotland in september which is 9 hours there but having a stripped out 182 on the scottish highlands would be pretty sweet lol

Will be alot more noisey with the exhaust, plus if you take the rear quater panels out, will hear every stone that chips up inside wheel arch.

Can fit much more in when doing trips to Ikea too... Bonus :)

I say do it. I have fully stripped mine (well almost). I don't mind it at all, and I've got to drive to Manchester later on today!

Tbh I don't really see the point in a road car. Let's be honest, there's very few people on here that are capable of getting the best from a car, so what genuine benefit will stripping it completely have? If it's going all out, cage, slicks, track suspension etc then do it.
If not, it's more about show than go. And that's just gay.

If it's that kind of use, no harm in stripping it then. Just don't go getting harnesses without a cage lol.

If you roll the car and the roof caves in, bye bye head... to be blunt. The harness holds you in tight and there wont be any time to adjust the straps etc.

I think there are a few threads about this, I think the jist of is that with standard belts, you have some movement so the chances of this are less, but harnesses give no adjustment to your body. Your pinned in with 4 or 5 points remember.

i dont even know if im gonna harness it... i had a trackday on friday and i was using my CG lock and it worked perfectly

I'd only strip a dedicated track car personally. If your going to do it, then do it properly. All the tar etc out etc.
