Stripping the interior

I have been thinking about putting my car on a weight loss diet! How many of you have stripped the interior of your cars and still use them day to day? What are peoples pro's and con's with stripping the interior?

What tools will I need to remove the rear bench etc (at the moment I have no tools at all so I will need to buy/beg/borrow them)? Has anyone created a guide on how to strip the interior? How long has it previously taken to strip your car? Is there anything I should watch out for? :)

Mine is stripped and almost an everyday car, but I do travel 110 miles to Heathrow fairly regularly so I can comment on this!

Pros

Better fuel economy
Better acceleration

Cons

Noisy as f**k on motorways
Cant hear the CD player
You look like a pikey

All of the above points are what Ive noticed on my car which has the full rear stripped, and the roof linings etc.
Not sure what level you are planning on going to, but taking the rear seats out is not stripping!

The tools you will need are different sized torx drivers (cant remember which exactly), and I think you will need a socket set for the rear bench.

Just for reference, here is my car in its current state:

You can just about see what has been removed from the rear.

yay or nay on a 1.2?

tbh, just taking the rear seats and all the stuff in the boot out will give you an idea of pros/cons

the cons (noise, effort) will increase as you take more out, and the pros will diminish (as you've already taken the bulkiest bits out) unless you go the whole hog
