struggling at 6-7k revs

  arctic 182 black wheels
over the past couple ov weeks i'v noticed the clio seems to be struggling and making a really weird noise when approaching 7k revs, i thought it might have been my centre box baffles so bought a new janspeed system and it's still happenin, had it in renault and they said the front pipe to cat seal had gone but that shouldn't cause it to struggle, just wonderin if its happened to any1 else and if so what was it??;)

how much are these to do m8, i don't wana pay renault prices coz they'l have me pants down lol?

if it's the manifold->system joint, Renault are currently asking £40 for the kit of bits and, if you've got a 172, it doesn't look like a lot of fun to fit

you've still got a flexing joint there, though.

i've just found this, which is annoying as i've just ordered a genuine Renault kit for mine at twice the cost: http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2334

if it is that joint that's the problem, it'll be much easier to fit to a 182 as the manifold terminates under the car (whereas a 172's terminates at the back of the engine)

may as well put one on and see if that sorts it as the only other joint that won't have been renewed as you had the system put on will be the mani->head gasket/s.

as an aside, got to say that mine's blowing quite badly from the mani->cat joint and doesn't appear to have lost power
