strut braces, make any difference?

1.2 16v, about to be lowered on fk coilies, was wondering whether strut braces would make the slightest difference or are they just for looks?

they are mainly for looks jamie, if you bolt them or weld them then they will be more purposeful but my fear is that if the strut is stopping the chassis from flexing at those points then where else is the flex going to 'stress'
my bro in law has worked on a few cars before which have had strut braces bolted on and the roofs have ended up kinked from the flexing :(

  RS Clio 200
pretty much noithing... but mine did feel a little more flimsey when i took the rear brace out. Coulda been psyc though

i genuinely did think i felt a difference with my rear one.

my front ones hopefully getting welded in next weekend

the rear one holds the top of the suspension doesnt it? ie. doesnt do anything at all?

the front is more effective but as i said earlier i would never risk a kinked roof lol

  ST on the way...
On a Clio with a sunroof it's been proven that prolonged use of a strutbrase will cause flex in other parts of the chassis and cause other things to bend!! :S

they're dont unfortunately unless you install it correctly and then really wont make that much of a difference , but i do like the look of mine in the engine bay
