Strut Top Washer Fitting

  Cup Packed 182 FF
Bit of a silly question but one worth asking I think. I've just come to fit the washers to go under the doughnuts on the suspension turrets and found the nuts to be very hard to get off. Which way should I be turning? I don't want to pop the strut out as i've read happens ifyou tighten too much.

anti clockwise. they can be properly tight though - i took mine to a garage to have them whiz them off with an air gun

Thought it was that way. It's going in to have brakes fitted on thursday so I might as well wait and get them to fit the washers as i'm not sure I can get them off.

Yep, tried again and the allen key digs in my hand too much. Cheers anyway though.

when you get them to do it, ask them to do the strut top bolts up by hand, rather than the windy gun... easier for the future.

i tried using a socket and the whole lot turned get a allen key and a deep ring spanner, it will come loose very easily.

think it 6mm allen and 21mm ring spanner, can someone confirm.

if you put a bit of tube on the allen key for more leverage :p it should be easy. once cracked loose it will come.
