stuck in 2nd

hello all

have slite sproblem with my cup only had it since may 2004 done 3000 miles to date, when accelerating hard in 2nd gear it seems i cant change up to 3rd gear even with the clutch down the engine is still de-accelerating but doesnt come out of gear gonna take it to renault to sort out but would like to no if anyone has this problem or knows what and why it is doing this

I had a similar thing with my MK2, used to change down from 5th to 2nd instead of 4th too! Took it to Renault but they swore there was nothing wrong with it, oddly, after I left it with them the problem mysteriously dissapeared, never came back afterwards.

Never did admit there was a problem though!

Best thing with Renault is not to take any rubbish from them and make sure they fix it, try to leave enough time to test it (with a mechanic) before driving it home too.

The gearboxes on the 172/Cups havent exactly been flawless, but I havent heard of this problem before.

Sounds like the clutch isnt disengagine properly.

i think your right kdf the clutch doesnt seem disengage, but it does eventually, and am able to change to 3rd its just so annoying
