stuck in snow !

  cliosport 182 55 reg
Hi to all, 1st post today, just registered because i need some feedback / comments if possible please.
i have just purchased a clio 182 cup in blue 55 reg, lovely car, 38k miles, guy at mot station said tyre got 3 to 4 months left of wear.
yesterday & today, it has snowed 4 to 6 inches deep here.
last night, on returning from fixing my sisters computer, i got 20 yards, then got bogged down in the snow !
:(
car would not move, i was gentle low revs, & as patient as possible, it would rverse ok & i had to do this lots of times, but when stuck on a 4 way crossing, or in the middle of a t junction, it gets a bit scary !
in the end i had to reverse the car to side of road & park it.
3 mile walk (half hour in snow blizzard) lovely.
later that night my son went & let some air out of tyres & got it home ok, saying it was spinning a bit, but not too bad.
i am now seriously looking to replace tyres, but would seek comments / advice, as we do not have loads of snow normally, so am fighting myself to get snow tryes,
should i just get new normal tyres ? advise please.
has anyone had this sort of experiance with low profile tyres in the snow ? this is the 1st time i have had a car with low profile tyres ?
i need to know what tyres to put on it as replacements.
sorry for long winded write up.
best wishes to all,
Grimbo.

Think i will pass on the socks Spoonie, (but thanks for the link), as for snow such thing as snow tyres,,,, ? Giraffe to come out with that one Evil :):)

having checked, the back tyres are very good, lotsa tread, so what about swopping them to the front ? just untill snow has gone, that should give me better grip.
Then i can get 4 nice new tryes at same time. :)

Hey, welcome to the club! I'd say no to snow tyres aswell. New normal tyres should grip 100% better than bald ones and theres no point splashing out on winter tyres for a few of weeks of the year.
