Sub and amp with standard stereo

i have a 53 reg 172, looking to put my sub and amp in but want to leave in the standard stereo, is this possible?????:S

i think it could be as long as the amp has high level inputs (think that is what they are called) but not 100% sure on this so could be worth looking it up.

I used a vibe sub in mine and i found it high input, I used to have it linked in with the back speakers, When both rear channels where connected though if it hit a big bass note it would switch the headunit off as the resistance was wrong, So i found the only way to get it to work was to have no back speakers, or just run the sub mono, on one channel, i sued left, and then it all worked fine, eventually i got an amp and then decided a change of headunit for a mp3, usb, bluetooth one was needed! Blaupunkt MP57!! love it to bits! looks OEM!
