sub and amp

just aquired 2 15" kenwood subs and a 1200 watt amp, i want to do an install how do i go about it? mdf sealed box?

No it's not.... A ported enclosure is better.
If you're considering making your own box, you need to know the capacity that they're supposed to run in and the frequency that you want it tuned to.
If it's looooow bass that you want, go for something around 30hz.

Right, so you're interested in volume than SQ then?

Basic points....
- ported gives more volume, sealed gives better SQ.
- If the ported box is tuned to a lower frequency, you get better SQ, higher frequency, more volume. I'd go for somewhere between the two, around 32/33hz.
- the tuning of your enclosure is dictated by the volume of the enclosure and the size and length of the port.

If you want to run a ported twin 15'' enclosure, it will take up your whole boot. If you're cool with that then crack on!

Did you get the instructions with the subs? If you did, have a look see what enclosure volume they recommend. Then stick that figure into an online calculator to work out the port size you're going to need to tune your box to the desired frequency.

havent got nothing with the sub, was just going to make a box and hope it sounded right, all i know is they are 1200 watt each and 15"

Lol. Just have a troll on the Internet and see if you can find the size it's supposed to be mate. It's worth doing properly.

What amp is it by the way?
I'd just use one of the subs.... You won't gave enough power out of that amp to run both properly.

not sure what amp mate, buying it off of a mate and havent seen it yet, may use one 15" and sell the other one
