  Yozza'd Titanium 182
i have a 12" jbl sub 1200 watts and a sub zero 1000 watt amp (nothing special)

my cd player goes up to 47 and when ever i turn it above 43 the sub cuts out and the red light comes on the amp.

Low voltage cut off, as you're clipping it probably. The red light is protect. What abling you got and what exact amp is it? Model number....

the amp is attached to the back off the sub box using 4 screws... its not particulary a good amp.

i have some Phase Linear/Evolution stuff for sale

4 channel amp (bridgeable for sub) and sub in box, cost me about £600 new a few years ago, £250 and its yours and ill throw in the wiring i had for it aswell, only in st helens so can come have a look if you want

not used it for a few months but its been inside under my bed, sub recently tested in a friends car so it all works fine

the sub zero 1000 amp is a 4 channel, therefore if your running it bridged your giving your sub 500w, being a cheap sub zero amp your probably only giving your sub 100W RMS, and those JBL subs can take 250W RMS usually so the amp is pretty underpowered for the sub, IMO anyway

id say your pushing the amp too far trying to make it do what it isnt capable of

Sorry mate just to add my 5 pence, if you want a "REALLY " good sound system then you should invest in your amp, its pretty much the heart of a sound system, cause no matter how big the athlete, if he has heart problems his performance aint gonna be up to scratch ... such as your experiencing now.

just read this again and realised you have your head unit on such a high volume, do you have the gain turned up on the amp at all as it doesnt sound like you do, DONT put it on max, but try it on about half way and see how that is
