superchip

I dont know, but I think you could take it off in no time at all (if you had time after you crash.....)

Doubt an insurance company would even investigate the claim, or check out your car, unless it was a huge crash!

Superchip is mapped onto the original ECU so no swapping of parts, I dont think they would ever know it had a different map.

Soory to tell you but insurance companies have started checking ECUs after a crash if they suspect remaps. But its upto the insurance companys I recon for moded cars they will check but stock cars should be ok. Best not risk it though insurance companies dislike paying out so dont give them an excuse.

They (insuracne companies and Renault) can tell in seconds if the ECU is standard.

Superchips remap is via the OBD port (under the ask tray in new shapes) and externally you cannot tell the differecne but the Renault computers can tell the difference. However they usually dont connect the computer up to the car as its take time. For warently work on the electrics they may connect up the computer but even then they have to look for the remap and there not going to try looking for a remap if your automatic lights are the reason the cars in for warently work.

Companies such as k-tec and remap older clios as the ECU has been out longer for moders to be able to remap and it isnt as complex.

A mate had a superchip put on his Scooby and his insurance went up by 10%...... gives you some idea of the possible extra cost.
