no idea how this got on my system but I have a pop up warning that pretends to be microsoft and tries to get me to download a fix (systemerrorfixer) for a problem I don't have, I've googled it but the only solutions I can find are offering me a program download to get rid of it, but I don't trust them, anyone got any ideas?

Go through your add/remove programs and remove anything you didn't install or don't need, allowing it to restart as it chooses...

Control Panel
Add Remove Programs
Find the program you want to remove
Click remove
