Take tints outt?

When i bought my clio at age of 16 it had tints in it and being young i thought yeah they look pretty cool, now seeing all the clios on here without the tints im thinking they look a lot better without the tints.

Any one have this colour clio without the tints so i can see how it looks before ripping them out?

it will look much better. nice looking car, its just the tints letting it down imo.

i removed my tints last year on my bg 182. made a huge improvement to the look of the car. only thing is it gets a lot hotter in the car in the summer now. the tints were supprisingly easy to remove, hairdryer, stanley blades, cloth and white spirit and patience well worth it tho!

so its a weekend job then!! lol. you cant just pull them out then? ive been thinking about it for a while now just havent got around to doing it tbh

you can jusst pull them out but you will be left with quite a lot of glue residue i would think. if you heat it up as you take them off it will melt the glue slightly then you just wipe the rest away with white spirit etc.
yeah easily a weekend job. took me about 3.5 hours to get mine spotless (5 windows).

It's a royal pain in the arse to de-tint, messy, smelly and your fingers will be on fire by the time your done.

Before you go crazy and just rip the tint off, get a fresh stanley/razor blade and put a nick in the film, so you have a 4-5 inch strip. Then try pulling it off slow, try with/without heat see what's working better.

It possible to get it off 99% glue free, just take it easy, if after 10 mins it's still leaving glue, then go wild and rip it off and mop the glue up.

Slow and steady wins this race!!

Sod doing them myself, I'm getting them professionally removed from mine on Monday. I've spent enough time at the weekends on my car recently and my hands hurt

I wasn't sure for ages, but I'm looking forward to getting rid of them now. I say remove them

yeah im looking forward to removing them but itl just look strange for a few days seeing my car with clear rear windows. think i might have a try tomorrow as im in college all week, and work weekends, :/ see what time i get out of my lair first

Yea they are deffo going as soon as ive done it i will get another dreadful mobile phone pic up!! i dont really know if i have 3.5 hours in me too do the job so probs take rear passenger and drivers side out and see how much time ive taken up and may leave rear till the week or next weekend.
