Taken my sub out :-)

  Polo Bluemotion
I took my sub and amp out last night, with the intentions of getting high end, amped components in the front and back.

I almost snapped my back lifting the sub+amp out, so i weighed it..........bl*ody 35kg!! Thats like driving round with a kid in my boot, lol. The car feels a little quicker, but i cant decide if its all in my head :clown: .

Its soo weird being 'bass-less', ive not not had a sub for over 2 years now

But i know what you mean about feeling weird not having a sub, after you've gotten used to it.

I had this phase, but decided to get another sub after selling my previous one, and having a car without bass for 3 months! lol

so would u advise against, for example, getting focal/rainbow etc components+amping them instead of my sub??? (alphasonik 612 12"+kenwood 9152d)

My set up provided brutal bass, that has helped to dismantle my car, but i now want to go down the route of dyno matting, rewiring all speaker cables, and getting top end components. Im guessing its all just trial and error tho.....

Ive got a 15" tuned to 33hz in my boot, you will never get the same base without running a sub, being said some amped components with nice midbass will do well, jsut wont give u and serious base. You could look at somehting smaller for the boot.

i'd try and get a set of mid bass speakers in the back or failing that get a set of comps but f**k off the tweeter

Agreed, you will not get the same bass as you did with a sub.

So if u loved ur massage chairs with loud music, then u will miss it dearly lol

cheers guys, but it probably doesnt help that ive got an alpine 9533r!!(i think thats it, the glidetouch one). It doesnt have bass or treble contols, its all friggin frequencies, which baffles me! lol. Ive emailed SQ plus for a quote to rewire my car, upgraded battery, and amping some focal components, front+back, so ill see what they come back with

It got too much, i had to turn it down when i was coming into corners as it blurred all three mirrors+bounced my rear wiper clean off the glass, lol.

I doubt ill ever go to that extreme again, but deep down, i know ill prob end up with a 8" or 10" little sub to help things along eventually, i just want to see if i can live without a sub :approve:

ill be selling that+ my amp first, lol :rasp:

you box looks so much neater than mine laura. Mine is true ghetto, filler here and there and just over lapping edges lol oh well i dont go to the boot much to look as it takes up the hole space!
