talk talk broadband offer

talk talk are offering 8mb bb with a 40 gig monthly limit on it.

it also comes with free local and national calls and international calls.

all for just over twenty quid.

If i swapped over i would save 23 pounds a month!!!

Question is, would i use up 40 gig a month? I occasinoally download the odd bittorrent file a month and use a bit of peer2peer but not a great deal.

I am also online every day for at least 3 hours. somedays a great deal more.

Would i use up my 40 gig limit?

40 gig is a lot if your not downloading films which are about 4.5 gig each then I think that should be substantial!

its not that good as an offer its actually 11.99 line rental + 20 for the call package you need peak time is from 8am till midnight when they aparantly will almost stop p2p and gaming traffic you wont get anywhere near 8mb

i read it as its £11 to cover line rental that talk talk pay to BT instead of you? Thne you have to pay the £9.99 for international calls. As a bonus you get free broadband. i clicked here to find this out.

yeah valid point on the p2p/gaming thing.

hopefull i would still be able to use the xbox360 on it? or would it not work completely until out of the peak hours??

i suppose the only way is to try it!

There was a thread on this the other day and I think someone mentioned that it was an 18 month contract as well.

Not sure myself. Looks quite tempting.

yup its 18 month contract, and they restrict p2p at peak hours but not online gaming etc.

So i'd say that £9.99 for unlimited international calls, unlimited local and mobile calls & 40gb a month broadband is pretty good!

On the 11th the demand was so high our servers couldnt cope.

ALL of the issues have been resolved.

But cpw are quoting May/June for broadband activation due to demand.

thng is you have to pay an additional £9.99 every month until your exchange has been upgraded. Only 1000 are getting upgraded and they don't start this until july. Im thinking theyre not gonna be in a rish to do these so the £9.99 can continue been charged (this is due to them having to use bt equipement) the total cost for a year (if you are paying this £9.99 extra as well which you WILL BE is £451.75 and you won't recieve anything more than 2 meg until your exchange has been upgraded. Wanadoo with wireless and talk for a year is £347.88 with a free wireless router. Only 2gb download limit but they don't charge you if you go over they inform you by letter, plus 90% of members never exceed this.
