The £10,000 detail

Seen a few write ups like his about a few different people charging this sort of money

Honestly I don't see why it's worth any more than a full detail from the pros you see on here. Don't get me wrong there work is fantastic but I think they have just played the game and exploiting the fact that the super rich will pay that sort of money, maybe the customer feels they are getting a better job because of the price or they don't care because they have crazy money to spend on these cars lol

Horses for courses. If you've got a Ferrari or a Bugatti etc and want the car looking its utter best then why not? I personally wouldn't pay it but then my wages aren't anywhere near the same level of the clients who use these services, although I can understand people paying for it. It's the same with anything though, such as I don't understand why people spend thousands on a watch when all it does is tells the time, or hundreds on a pair of exclusive shoes when my £50 pair do the same job.

Nothing new, rich and poor people are exploited everyday with branding, brand promises and hype over certain products.

I would imagine that the sort of people that own these types of cars, to them that isn't much. Its all relative i suppose

I'm in agreement that 10k is nothing to some folk. but I'm more interested not in the cost, but what you actually get for your 10k and how much it would actually cost to do a detail of this level?

I've not actually looked at the link but have a look at some of the KDS details and the amount of work and hours that can go into a high end detail. Mega especially when you start on wet sanding etc.

Whether or not its work it over say a 500-1000 detail remains to be seen but i guess if you have the clientele with those sorts of motors your going to charge considerably more, Just good business sense if people are willing to pay it, Why not?

Also I know some of the more 'specialist' detailers clearly do quite well for themselves but if you compare what they've charged for a particular detail and compare it to the hours they've spent on the car, it often can work out to less than £20 an hour. Then factor in the overheads etc...

No glasses, ear defenders or gloves? Amateurs. As has been said, play the game right and you can earn this sort of cash on a detail.

24 hours after having £10k spent on it, the car was still covered in road grime.
And the interior full of empty B&H packets.
