The best free anti spyware programs?

Whats the best free anti spyware package available on the net people? Did have spybot but its stopped working for some reason?!

Also run Spybot Search and Destroy, that clears spyware out, then puts dummy files in it's place to stop it infecting your PC again.

Ad Aware is worth running too. I use all 3.

Agreed^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You could also use Ewido, it's a good little antivirus programe

I did just download one called spyware dr which found 37 things wrong including trojans but it asked me to pay to clear them....

i use adaware. zone alarm firewall and avg anti virus, are there better free programs out there then?> i'll try the M$ one tonight.

i used to use the MS one - very good.

I use the one built into Panda Titanium now.

Well just ran the microsoft one and spybot and now all is well again and running sweet!

Since we are on topic, I use AOL's spyware program and ive started to block tracking cookies. However the same ones come up in the next days search and a heap of them are building up. Are these dangerous? Or should I just delete them every time they come up.

I think the only reason that they come up is because they are from some ad sites.

microsoft antispyware is really good, i use that and norton.

I use spybot and adaware, make sure u use the auto check for updates as they seem to release new definitions every other day.

havent tried the microshit one but dont see the point off having 3 progs for the same thing. The 2 i use do the job. And i run norton internet security in the back for virus and firewall.

Exactly what i use , someone told me to switch off system restore as this is where bugs can hide - is this right

Yeah switch it off, install the apps and update them then boot into safe mode and run them. Once you've finisihed Boot into windws normally and switch it back on.
