The bloody ! in iTunes

iTunes just updated and i didn't have my external HD connected where all my music is. So now i have the ! next to every song. Is there a way that i can get rid of the ! without having to go through and play every song.
Im not having to locate the song but I'm having to click on play for the song as iTunes won't attempt to play it its self.

close itunes and repen it wit the hdd attached?

As above, click on a song to play it and you might have to find it on the HD. Then it should pop up with a message saying use this file location to find other missing files in your library.
