Looking at some of the threads on this forum.. and have noticed that alot of people find 'Elephant' insurance fairly cheap...

I am a 17yr old male, and have a 03 plate 1.2 16v Dynamic Sport. I am currently insured with tesco for £1700. I have looked on elephant insurance and got a quote of £3884.45!!! That is ridiculous!!

Has anyone else found elephant insurance over priced?

Ive found it the cheapest by far, Im 21 with 1ncb on a 1.2 paying £479 mods declared. Try the quote again but adding an experienced female driver on as a 2nd driver it may bump it down a little if your lucky.

I tried the quote again, and added my mum on it and it gave me a quote of £2716.10.. Which is a little better... but i think i will keep with tesco!!

i found them very good, i got on the VTR @ 19 with 1 year NCB for 2000 fully comp.

Me and my girlfriends insurance for our 172 is through Elephant at the moment, and we pay around £600 fully comp. Thats pretty good considering i only passed in Jan this year.

I find Admiral is cheaper than Elephant.

Admiral and Elephant are the same company are they not?

I phoned up Elephant tonight to ask why my renewal was higher than I thought it should be and got £80 taken off as a loyalty bonus.

Me and the gf are both 25 and it is £360 fully comp on my 1.4 with Eibachs and alloys declared, parked in a residential car park. They wouldn't go any lower than that but better than nothing I suppose.

I went with first alternative for my 1st car, it was steap at £2k but it was an insurance group 8 and I'd rear ended some-one and written off my mums old astra shop around man, ull probably knock a few hundred off. try http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/ they have produced some ace quotes for me as I'm renewing soon.

go on a site like confussed.com and find the cheapest company. Dont have all companys on there but it will give you a fair idea. and yes, insurance is ridiculous for young males

elephant, 21, 0 NCB, £1700 for my v6..

i went as main driver in my dads name in the end for £810..with protected NCB

I did my PassPlus and I got my Clio 1.2 insured from 1700 to 1300 - worth the £200 PassPlus lessons (was over 4 years ago now)
