The joys of a faulty crankshaft position sensor

  1.5 Clio Dynamique
Today me and the missus went shopping around worcester.

all was going fine until we got back into the car and the bloody thing wouldnt start after 6-7 attempts of starting it.

so anyway we decided that it has finally had it and decided to call out the aa.

Waited the 40mins for him to turn up and the first thing he said as he got under the bonnet was ''turn it over''

as i turned the key the bloody thing started on the button. I have never felt such a t**t in my whole life!

Common for them to get covered with clutch dust and cause a poor signal at cranking speed.

Did he spray it with some stuff or did it cure itself?

Had this!

Although I was at a set of lights at 8:15am in rush hour, when the car died, it was -2 degrees and wouldn't start. 4 hours later and the AA arrived, it started straight away!

If it doesn't start in future I typically just pop the bonnet, touch/wiggle the wire going into the crank sensor, and it'll start fine. Really annoying.
