The new car...

Well following on from this thread here's a few pics of the new motor!

Much like the ST was before this - I'm sure this'll be met with equal marmite reaction! lol.

It's a Civic Type R GT with 19" Rage alloys and Sat-nav & Hands free.
It's a very different drive to the ST, although it's another league in comfort (despite the 19") in comparison. ST was quite harsh being so low.

I understand the comments regarding the lack of feedback in the steering - it's very light, but I'm getting used to it. Love everything else about the car - the interior and toys are incredible, not to mention v-tec yo!

Some quick pics, nothing special - was on the way to meet up with the GF so didn't have long!

I work literally 2mins from TDI north - who specialise in tuning Hondas, so I should have some nice mods coming the end of this month!

Well I've been looking at exhausts and induction so far, but the mods will be power rather than cosmetic. Although I do like the look of some of the splitters available.

How come mate? Insurance is up for re-newal April 1st so if I do it then I can avoid any policy update fees!

Ta - like I said, it'll be a little marmite! Wouldn't have it any other way though lol.

I get what people have said about the feedback, the steering is very light which has taken a lot of getting used to. The steering wheel is tiny as well!

But like you said - everything else about the car is spot on!

I did contemplate the 18" - if only for tyre prices and comfort! But I just couldn't help thinking the 19" made it that bit more special. Plus, coming from a coilovered car to this - it's like riding on a cushion of air! I have to be honest though, I was looking at Milano red first - then this one turned up. Glad I went with the silver in the end - if only as it looks cleaner for longer! lol.

I have never liked the new ones until recently...I now see a red one parked up every morning on my way to uni, same wheels as yours and in the space of a week gone from not really liking, to, I have look at it as i walk past, to, i like it alot (almost walked into someone today cos I was looking at it)

Yeah - definitely glad I went with the 19", despite Honda salesmen warning me about the ride. It's in a different league comfort wise compared to the ST on coilies!

Yeah Rage's were a must! Despite several warnings from Honda's salesmen about how they effected the ride! But again - it's more comfortable than the ST!

Really good mate yeah, I'm really pleased with it. It's got so much more road presence than the ST did. Sounds strange but the ST you felt like you had to drive it with a chip on your shoulder - like it constantly had something to prove. But you don't get that with the Type-R, it's very easy and relaxing to drive slowly - great seats, interior etc - but equally it's effortlessly quick when you need it to be. It's not as chuckable as the ST was - not even close - but I think there's an element of me still finding the limits the Type-R. Plus the tyres aren't the best either.

But yeah, I'm really really happy overall! Will get some interior pics up soon too.

Power delivery is really good, certainly getting used to it now. Lets just say it's not a lazy drivers car, you do have to work it differently with vtec (yo!). Regarding the steering - it's quite light, not quite as much feedback as the ST gave - the steering wheel is tiny in comparison to the ST & Clio though! Much prefer it!
